Kassie,

As we spoke on Saturday, I want to reiterate how very grateful I am to you and the Voices for Vets organization for the wonderful performances that you provide for the residents of Vantage Point.

My parents had been married for 61 years, living 60 of those years in South Florida. Several years ago, they decided to sell their home and move to a continuous care facility not to far from their home.  Immediately prior to the COVID 19 pandemic, my mother became ill requiring her to go into rehab  and then into the nursing home in the community. Due to the COVID restrictions on nursing homes, my parents were unable to see each other for approximately two years causing both to suffer immensely. My siblings and I decided to research places in the Baltimore/Washington area that would allow my parents to live together as well as be closer to myself and my sister. We felt very fortunate to find that Vantage Point would not only be able to accommodate them but also had  many  events and activities to offer, one of the most attractive was the music performances. We moved my my parents to Vantage Point in February of this year. Just after moving into Vantage Point, they attended a live music performance, in the Vantage Point auditorium. My mother cried afterwards stating that she had never thought she would be able to hear live music again. Since that time, she has attended every music performances that she could, many of them were provided by Voices of VETS. The week after my father passed, I commented that she looked extremely exhausted and that she might want to turn in early skipping the concert. She admitted that although she was extremely fatigued, she just loved the music and wanted to attend.

Voices of Vets is a wonderful organization and has provided much joy to those at Vantage Point, especially my parents. I can only imagine that this is true for all the nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Veteran’s homes, and Veteran’s Hospitals they serve.

If there is any way that I can help the organization, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Jean Brumbley
